【have too much on one"s plate 貪多嚼不爛】
就算一個(gè)人的能力無窮，他的時(shí)間終究有限，若此時(shí)工作任務(wù)如排山倒海而來，難免讓人懷疑他就算能一心二用，恐怕也免不了焦頭爛額的下場(chǎng)，最后沒有一樣事情能做好，
A: I think he has too much on his plate right now.
我覺得他真的是貪多嚼不爛。
B: I agree. He"s too busy to return my calls, and we have some important business to finish.
我同意。他忙到?jīng)]時(shí)間回我電話，而我們還有重要的公事要敲定呢。
跟這個(gè)慣用詞相近的還有have a lot on one"s plate，“有很多事要忙”。
A: I know you"ve got a lot on your plate. But you also have to consider your health.
我知道你有很多事要忙。但是你也該為健康著想。
B: I can"t agree more. 我完全同意。
